NEWS AND EVENTS

African Children's Choir

October 8, 2023 we were blessed to have the African Children's Choir perform for our church and community. The children, from Uganda, range from age 7-10 and are on tour in the northwest for six months. Their energy and harmonies were stunning. The songs were familiar Christian hymns, but with an African flair. They were here for 4 days staying in host homes before heading to their next church in Great Falls. Their next stops will include Wyoming, Idaho and California.

Presbyterian Women (P.W.)

Presbyterian Women's November fundraiser is really a “FUN Raiser.”  Women in P.W. sponsor events such as a Gourmet Dinner, a Gardening Class, Tapas, Gourd Art, a River Float Trip and Pisankas. With the funds raised, PW supports local social service agencies such as Safe Space, Action Inc., the Food Bank and the Rescue Mission.

This year's Float trip was a big hit!

Twelve passengers set sail that day, For a three hour tour, A three hour tour; the Skippers brave and sure… Dixon and Kevin kept this from being a fateful tour!  Along with the beauty of the river, passengers enjoyed eagles and ospreys fishing, an otter and a variety of song birds.  This year’s Fall Event is just around the corner. Be sure to sign up for some of these amazing adventures.

The annual Presbyterian Women's picnic was held at Toni's home. It was such a blessing to have 16 women (and children!) attend.

Kim Vance.jpg
Guest Speaker from Cambodia

The Central Montana Area Team for Operation Christmas Child hosted special celebration and kick-off events in four communities. FPCButte hosted the event on June 3,2023 with guest spokesperson, Kim Vance from Columbia to an enthusiastic crowd. At 14, Vance was invited to a Christmas celebration at a house church. She was excited to come because the church offered food. There, she received an Operation Christmas Child shoebox gift. Inside were the school supplies she needed. She also received a colorful booklet called The Greatest Gift explaining the story of Jesus Christ.  She shared how she was in a war torn country, had abusive parents, and at age 14 was actually a victim of trafficking in Malaysia.  A simple shoe box changed her life and brought her hope— in her words, “It saved my life.” If you were not able to come and hear her in person, the video is on our FB page at https://fb.watch/11FNa7Vjty/
